The Rocking Chair Exercise
Looking back at your life with an age of 85
(takes 30-50 minutes)
Sometimes we get into doubts – about our life, how it could be, how it should be. Options which are given to us can be confusing and often do not make life easier to design and to live and to make appropriate decisions every day. This little exercise will help you to put most important things into an order, to set priorities and to make decisions accordingly.
Sit somewhere in silence, make sure that you are not going to be disturbed. If you do exercises regulary, in which you bring yourself into kind of separate reality or inner world (like counting down) do so, if not don’t worry.
Be in silence your eyes closed and imagine that you are sitting in a rocking chair (if you have one – even better, then sit in there). Imagine you sit in the rocking chair and that you are 85 years old. Imagine it with all details you can – to get into the mood: you have white hair, wrinkles, you are wearing some comfy slippers … sitting in your rocking chair … and you look back onto your life: Are you satisfied? Was it fulfilling? Did you do and achieve all you wanted in this life? Did you miss anything so far? [Now it’s getting interesting.]
In case you missed anything, what was it? What else should you have done? What else did you want to experience and didn’t? – Just explore. Explore missing pieces , events, people, things and undertakings that you would liked to have in your life and still don’t have. Take your time doing that.
When you think you have the main things together (may be just 1-5 things, not more), find out what’s really important of all that (1-2 items of the list), what is optional and what is really not so important.
Going further – have in mind the most important items of your list. Think back to the time of your actual current age outside the exercise (like 36, 43 whatever – in the now) but from the view of the 85 year old person, you are still sitting in the rocking chair being 85. Take the most important item from your list of undone things you just found out about and define what it really is (wife is not just wife, own business is not just own business, friends can be just friends, but what kind of friends/what interests you share etc.) – and your definition as an 85 year old may be different than it would be in the actual now. Try to make one sentence on this. Take your time doing this. …
Last step: figure out roughly the steps necessary to make it happen. How much time is left? How urgent is it? What are the main steps? What do you need to do to make it happen? Again: take all the time you need to do this.
If you have the main things together – come back into this reality and take notes of what you found out. [end exercise]
You can go back at any time to continue working on this, to go into more detail and to find out more.
Happy creations and take care …

Superstitious, Imperfect and
Why At New Moon ?
Ancient Asian astrologers say that we should start new things at new moon day. Things started at these particular chosen days will be easier to stick with and will have a better chance to succeed. So why not release a new website on such a day?
It’s August 29th 2011 and we are releasing isemboo.com to the public. Call us “superstitious” if you like so, because we are doing it at this date. To some people it might look like this. On the other hand: what we believe in is valid. People, who land on this site, quite likely know the basic rules of creation and manifestation.
We have learned in half a ton of projects that it takes ages to make things perfect and some features we have in mind the audience might not even value so much. May be you know the 80/20 rule or the “Pareto Principle”, which says that 20 percent of all of our efforts make 80 percent of the outcome. This relates to customers, profits and actually everything outcome related we do. Jason Fried concludes in his book “Rework” that we should start all with a “version 1”, which might be limited in functionality, features etc. and start with this. From there we can go further. In our corporate projects with budgets between 3+ and 10 million Euro one of the difficult points is that customers want too much at once and did not even finish thinking on a basic version. All those reasons are good enough to release isemboo.com at the state where it is. It’s definitely not perfect, but it is already what it was meant to be.
Isemboo.com is a self growth calendar of the top experts in the self growth scene– all in one place: Anthony Robbins, Brian Tracy, T. Harv Eker and more being added soon.
In spring this year I really sweared when I noticed that T. Harv Eker was in Germany and hadn’t noticed it early enough to book the event and to go there. Often I travel around the world to this kind of events and sometimes events are at the same place and closed together (a good place to happen that is San Diego). I always wanted to have an overview what’s going on in the self growth scene, a calendar to see what is when and where and to be able to combine travel for these events if possible. It usually took real efforts to get the information together and I missed interesting events just around the corner. That’s why I wanted to built a global self growth event calendar and now it is isemboo.com. Here we have all these information at one place, all events globally per region: Asia, Europe, US/Canada and we will support the leading experts in self development and self growth. We can see what’s going on where and with whom. Yes, currently at day of release of this website we have not all in yet, some need to be added. We will do so within next days/weeks as we get corresponding information from the companies running these events.
Even if we built one of the tools we needed ourselves, we hope that it will be useful for others as well. We will do our best to document the major events of the big in self growth at isemboo.com. For now we want to leave it with “the big” only and we do –not-want to add all self growth events possible, the market is just too huge. At isemboo.com we just want to keep the very top in the self growth scene. If you think we are missing someone or major events, feel free to inform us.
Until here you might have noticed, that our English is not perfect. We are German and we have to be pragmatic in some points if we want to get our stuff done. We do what we can and we think it is possible to understand what we mean writing here and no one in this world is perfect. We are human as you are and may be human love each other BECAUSE of our imperfection.
We wish you all reading this a great start with this new moon day.
Take care …
